Thank you so much for this! Just one thing: On the PPE Supplies section you say that you need Tube B to be 3/4" OD, I think that's meant to say 5/8" (as that's the product # listed). Again, thanks a lot for this super clear tutorial!

I really like the fresh perpective you did on the issue. Really was not expecting that when I started off studying. Your concepts were easy to understand that I wondered why I never looked at it before. Glad to know that there's an individual out there that definitely understands what he's discussing.

I'm having some trouble finding the 3/4" ID, 1-1/8 OD 160 PSI Polyethylene. McMaster Carr has 3/4" ID but only 7/8" and 1" OD. Do you know where I could find some? It would be Image #8 on your tube experiments page.

[...] I came across this fantastic tutorial over on isopop.com today, teaching you how to make a high quality clear plastic hula hoop. Rich’s posts are always high quality and he takes the time to explain things well. It talks about the types of tubing out there and where to get them. Head on over to http://isopop.com/2010/02/22/how-to-make-high-performance-white-plastic-hoops/ [...]

Yes, you can use the same cutters. A good trick is to squeeze the tubing with the cutters so that it just starts to cut into the tube, then rotated the cutters around the tubing creating a small incision, this will give you a more perfect cut on your tubing.

You can use the same HDPE tubing, just get the same size OD as the ID of the hoop you are building.
